Our ABP Tactical Pen takes any Parker style refill.
While we, nor our customers have had any problems, its always up to TSA. TSA agents have the right to seize ANYTHING they want to. That said, if you are that concerned you should stow it in your carry on or check it.
It is a small plastic adapter that is supplied with each refill so it will fit the pen.
That's a good question. We actually have a lot of LEO as customers. And they've said it has worked great (one actual LEO responded back after he was finished writing a ticket!)
The most important thing is that twisting clockwise extends the pen, counterclockwise brings it back in. Do not overtwist when extending the pen. Meaning, only twist so that the pen extends. So to change out the refill, you're going to want to twist counter clockwise until the feeder is removed from the barrel. Be careful because the spring on ink is loose and you don't want to lose it. When you get ready to change it, you'll look inside the barrel and you'll see a gold color circular opening, that's where the refill end needs to rest. You'll need to make sure that you have a Parker style refill. (The white cap is the Parker adapter.) Put the refill in and make sure it slides into the hole, you'll hear a muffled clicking sound. Put the spring on top of the refill, then slide the feeder carefully over the top. Do not jam it down hard, some people try and do this. If the pen extrudes, that's fine, just realign to make sure the refill is in. Then just twist clockwise slowly again, do not overtwist. The twist mechanism can sometimes be finicky, that's why we tell people do not overtwist. If you ever have any issues, do not hesitate to contact us.
